But I already have an app for remembering birthdays, it's called "Calendar".
Absolutely! The calendar is good for being reminded of individual birthdays when they occur, but worse if you want to find out when a specific person has their birthday. And even worse if you want to get an overview of birthdays for all members of a family, for example.
All this personal data I store in the app, you're not selling it to anyone, right?
No! In fact, your data doesn't even leave your phone (without your consent), let alone get sent or sold to a third party. This also means we unfortunately can't help you restore the data if you lose your phone!
I remember what all my friends and their kids are called. And those I don't remember weren't that important anyway.
Good for you! Some are better than others at remembering names and birthdays. But think how much brain space you could free up if you used Frände instead of keeping everything in memory!
Is Frände free?
Frände is free to download and you can use all features in the app as much as you want. We plan to introduce pricing models, but the core functionality will always be free.
Which devices are supported?
Frände is available for iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) running iOS 15.0 or later, and Android devices running Android 8.0 or later.
How do I backup my data?
Your data is automatically included in your device's backup (iCloud for iOS, Google Backup for Android). When you restore your device or set up a new one, your Frände data will be restored as well.
Can I sync my data across devices?
Currently, Frände does not support cloud sync to maintain maximum privacy. Your data stays exclusively on your device. We're exploring privacy-first sync options for future updates.
Can I export my data?
Yes! You can export your data at any time from the app settings. This creates a backup file that you can save or transfer as needed.
What information can I save?
Anything you want! Frände is completely customizable. Common examples include names, birthdays, addresses, jobs, shoe sizes, interests, allergies, favorite foods, hobbies, children's names, pet names, clothing sizes, and more. You choose what's important to you.
How do I delete my account?
Since Frände doesn't use accounts or cloud services, there's nothing to delete on our end. Simply uninstall the app from your device to remove all data. If you want to keep the app but clear your data, you can do so from the app settings.
